Virginia Tech Rescue Squad announces officers for 2023-24 academic year

Who we are

The mission of the Virginia Tech Rescue Squad (VTRS) is to provide the highest level of emergency medical services to the students, faculty, staff, and visitors of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. VTRS shall extend these services to the county and commonwealth when called upon to do so. All members of the VTRS uphold a dedication to training, education, and outreach while committing themselves to the principle of Ut Prosim.

Services

In addition to response to 911 calls on the Blacksburg campus, our agency:

  • Provides routine transport service from Schiffert Health Center to hospitals throughout the region;
  • Provides comprehensive incident/event management for all large-scale planned events;
  • Supplies routine standby services to affiliated and non-affiliated organizations as requested;
  • Teaches CPR/AED, First Aid, REVIVE, Vitals, and Stop the Bleed classes.
