This class is 154 hours and teaches you the basics about patient assessment and treatment of trauma, allergic reactions, diabetic emergencies, heat/cold emergencies, cardiac emergencies, and more.

These courses are offered periodically throughout the year (usually following college semesters) at nearby locations through the Office of EMS. VTRS could get you registered or provide you with course information if you notify us with ample time prior to the class.

Please note that we do give preference to those applicants affiliated with an EMS agency. You may only miss four classes during the semester. Please review the details below to ensure that this is not a problem. Those missing more than four classes will not be eligible to test.

The due date for applications will be Friday August 11th at 5:00pm.  The class will begin on August 28th.  The class will end on December 9th.  Adult, Child, and Infant CPR is a prerequisite.

Location: Blacksburg Rescue 1300 Progress ST. NW, Blacksburg VA

Class will meet every Monday and Wednesday night from 6:00 to 10:00pm with occasional Sunday classes as needed.

This is a hybrid course which requires online learning via MyBradyLab.  Students must be computer literate and disciplined enough for online learning.  Classroom nights will be utilized for hands on learning and skill reviews.

Cost of course is $550.00 plus purchase of MyBradyLab access.
